Benedicto Abilio Monteiro Soares was a Brazilian zoologist. His name is often cited as "B. Soares" to avoid confusion with his wife Helia Soares, which is cited as "H. Soares".
Notable contributions
B. Soares produced a great number of small notes containing mainly reviews of work by former authors and species descriptions, and mostly in Gonyleptidae. A great part of his work was done in collaboration with his wife, Helia Soares. He is the author of genera such as Heliella, Mitopernoides, Ubatubesia.
