New Zealand (Māori: Aotearoa [aɔˈtɛaɾɔa]) is a sovereign island country in the southwestern Pacific Ocean. The country has two main landmasses—the North Island (Te Ika-a-Māui), and the South Island (Te Waipounamu)—and around 600 smaller islands.
New Zealand has the 8th most diverse opilionofauna in the world with more than 200 species recorded.
This category is for harvestmen officially recorded from New Zealand, repositories of New Zealander Opiliones and authors who worked on New Zealander opilionofauna.
New Zealand (which is part of the Australasian Realm) is one of the 25 conservation hotspots listed in Myers et al, 2000 (doi:10.1038/35002501).
