The genus Goniosoma was described by Perty in 1833. This is the type genus of the subfamily Goniosomatinae Mello-Leitão (1935) and includes 12 Brazilian species.

Distribution[]
Espírito Santo, southern Minas Gerais, Rio de Janeiro and, in São Paulo, only Serra da Bocaina and north littoral [1].
