The genus Goniosoma was described by Perty in 1833. This is the type genus of the subfamily Goniosomatinae Mello-Leitão (1935) and includes 12 Brazilian species.


Type species

Goniosoma varium Perty, 1833, by subsequent designation, Roewer, 1913.

Distribution

Espírito Santo, southern Minas Gerais, Rio de Janeiro and, in São Paulo, only Serra da Bocaina and north littoral [1].
