Giribet is a mega-prolific Catalan author who has settled in the USA as a Professor in MCZ.
He resurrected the interest in the hitherto poorly studied suborder Cyphophthalmi, invested great resources in collecting specimens all over the world and, along with his students, reshaped the systematic of the group. He also contributed studies of molecular systematics of greater groups in Opiliones.
