Jochen Martens (born 10 June 1941) is a German zoologist, active in harvestmen since mid-60s.
Main contributions[]
Among an impressive list of high-quality papers, Martens produced a review of Caucasus Nemastomatidae (2006), a manual of German Opiliones which is the core for systematics of central European species (1978) and established the base for the comparative study of male genitalia in Opiliones (1976, 1986). He also published a series of large works on harvestmen of Nepal. He created the family Fissiphalliidae.
