Leiosteninae Šilhavý, 1973 is a subfamily of Agoristenidae with 12 genera and 56 species, distributed in northern South America.

Remarks[]
According to ICZN, art. 40.1, the subfamilial name Leiosteninae should not be changed, not even with the proposed synonymy of Leiostenus with Avima.
