Metaplatybunus Roewer, 1911 is a genus in the family Phalangiidae, subfamily Platybuninae.

Abbreviated logonymy[]

Metaplatybunus Roewer 1911e: 68 ^[1]. Type-species by original designation, as noted by Crawford (1992): Platylophus grandissimus C.L. Koch, 1839.

Etymology[]

From Greek μετά (after) + pre-existing genus Platybunus. Gender masculine.

Placement[]

Originally in Phalangiinae (also returned to it by Martens 1978b). In Platybuninae (Staręga 1976a; Crawford 1992).
